Our Cancellation Policy
At Awakened Buddha we understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms, and illness are just a few of the reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment. We recognize the time of our clients and staff is valuable and have implemented this policy for this reason. When you miss an appointment with us, our therapists not only lose your business, but also the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment for the same time. Additionally, many times our staff will be functioning in an “on call” status and may have traveled to the office specifically for your service. For these reasons, we are obligated to compensate our staff for their time. In our desire to be effective and fair to all of our clients, and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we have adopted the following policies:
In most cases, a 24-hour advance notice is required when canceling an individual appointment. Group appointments, Chronic Injury treatments and Energetic Bodywork sessions require 48-hour advance notice. This allows the opportunity for someone else to avail themselves of our services.
If you are unable to give us the minimum 24-hours (or 48-hours) advance notice, and we are unable to fill your time slot, you will be charged the full amount of what would have been your treatment fee but no less than $25.00 (this includes delayed or cancelled flights). At our discretion this charge will be either automatically deducted from the outstanding balance of an existing “value plan” or gift certificate or charged to credit card on file; otherwise, it must be paid in full prior to your next treatment.
On the other hand, if we are able to fill “your” time slot with somebody else, you will not be charged for that missed appointment.
All services require a credit card or gift certificate to guarantee a reservation so please have your credit card and/or gift certificate ready when booking. You will not be billed unless there is a cancellation or no show. Upon checkout, guests may choose their method of payment and are not obligated to use their credit card for payment.
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show”. They will be charged the full service fee but no less than $25.00. At our discretion this charge will be either automatically deducted from the outstanding balance of an existing “value plan” or gift certificate or charged to credit card on file; otherwise, it must be paid in full prior to your next treatment.
Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers: Please plan accordingly in order to be on time
Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session, however we will do our best to satisfy the scheduled time.
